Hello, I have never commented on a blog before and am not sure of what I am doing! But I saw your piece on Butterick 5214 and wonder if you would restore the photos. I would like to make it myself but my DH is convinced it would look like h**l on me and I want to show him a photo to prove that it would NOT. The Butterick catalogue from a few months ago - last year? - did have a photo but not anymore. Any help you could give would be much appreciated.....thank you!
I'm sorry to wait so long to reply. I really should pay more attempts to the blog I guess. I did organize my pics over in photobucket and I keep meaning to go back and update links, but it is difficult to get around to it. I think Butterick 5214 is a great and very flattering dress. Good luck, the patterns was relatively easy too, so you shouldn't have any problems.
I'm the one who asked if you could repost the photos. Thank you so much for doing so! I am more determined than ever now to make this outfit. I will take the pattern to a local tailoring genius, tho, & get it altered into a skirt & top as opposed to a dress - I am about a size 14 "up top" and a size 16-18 "below" so dresses often just don't work on me.... love your colour scheme, I may "steal" it!
